5 Star Childcare & ELC is owned and operated by two families, Wayne and Peili Gan. Wayne and Peili have had 10 years experience in operating their own childcare centre in Craigieburn. We the operators, together with our staff, assure you that we will provide a safe, loving and caring environment for your child. We will create experiences that will be remembered, assisting in creating, lasting childhood memories for you and your child and to facilitate their optimal social, personal and intellectual development.
Peili is the director of the centre and will be teaching in the 4 – 5 years room
Wayne is in charge of financial management and will assist with the administration

What are the centre’s Aims & Philosophy?
At 5 Star Childcare & ELC we believe all children are equal and will be treated as such. We will respect each family’s culture and religious beliefs.
We will respect the individuality of each child and respond to their physical, intellectual, emotional and social needs.
Children learn through play and it is our aim to create a positive, happy, secure and creative environment for your child to learn and expand.
We will offer praise and encouragement on a regular basis.
We will offer a balance between your child’s home life and time spent with us, we seek to make the transition period a smooth, painless and happy experience.
We will foster the development of your child whilst they assimilate into a group environment.
We will keep the parent informed of the progress of their child on a regular basis and encourage one on one dialect between our staff and the parent.
Childcare Centres Association of Victoria Inc
5 Star Childcare & ELC is a proud member of the Childcare Centres Association of Victoria and as a member we abide by a Code of Ethics (displayed at Reception).
The Childcare Centres Association of Victoria keeps 5 Star Childcare & ELC up to date with advice and information on all aspects of childcare.
Staffing
5 Star Childcare & ELC employs qualified, trained and experienced staff and at all times meets the requirements under Regulation 24 & 25 of the Childrens Services Act 1998.
All staff are required to have a current Police check before being employed at the centre.
There is a staff member with First Aid training on duty at all times.
5 Star Childcare & ELC staff are active and enthusiastic participants in regular in-servicing programs/workshops and are always encouraged by management to improve their childcare skills
The centre has a list of experienced Relief staff who are called in as necessary for staff sick leave, holidays etc. The centre endeavours to use the same relief staff as they are familiar with the centre’s procedures and the children.
Students, work experience students and volunteers are encouraged and supported. The centre offers training for student childcare workers on a regular basis.
